                                                        SPECIAL-PURPOSE KNOTS

                                     Line to Reel or Spool
Also called the Arbor Knot or Reel Knot, this knot will get you started
when winding line onto a spool.

1 Bring the running end around the spool and tie an Overhand Knot
                          around the standing part.

2 Make another Overhand Knot, close to the first, and trim the end
                          short.

The second Overhand Knot should be tied close to the first, and the
very tip should be cut short to avoid tangling with the line as it is wound
to the spool. Fingernail clippers make easy work of cutting fishing line
close to a knot, but take care not to nick the knot with the clippers.
