Slipped Figure Eight Knot
If you want your Figure Eight Knot to release quickly, modify it by
making it into a Slipped Figure Eight Knot. This knot is tied from a dif-
ferent version of the Figure Eight Knot.
Use the running end to make a crossing turn by twisting the end

down and over the standing part and underneath it. Then, use the
bight of the running end to pull it through the loop.
You can release this knot simply by pulling on the running end.
