THE TROUBLE WITH THE PHARISEE

God is opposed to the proud and haughty.

The Pharisee prayed in a self-righteous way.

He hated others that did not measure up

to his standards. And he compared his doings

to the unrighteous deeds of others

                      instead of God’s righteousness.

A bitter, i.e., most rebellious Pharisee refuse

to accept that Christ is the end of the law

for righteousness to everyone by faith.

                                                                                                                            335
