Horizon
To My Beloved Angel
Above me, your loving eyes look down and keep watch Throughout my day to day life;
During last year, we watched you return to Heaven, From this earth filled with strife.
With tearful eyes and heavy hearts, we watched you pass on,
To your life in paradise, where suffering is no more.
Through time, we’ve learned to mend the wounds slashed on our hearts, Of all the events in my life, this one made my heart the most sore.
Up there, I know you’re happy, so I could never ask you to descend Down here again your earthly state, even though I miss you dearly. Below you, we remain, your family who loves you to no end,
Among all the values you taught me, I want to thank you especially
For bringing this family together.

Kairos
The air is warm but the ground is cold. We had no idea what was going on. Tears fill up my eyes as I bow my head, Not wanting anyone to see me cry.
My stomach feels like a hurricane,
The quiet sobs around me hurts my heart. As the last words from the leaders are said, A loud silence fills the room.
All at once, we are standing up
And running to each other for support. I find myself in his strong embrace, Letting myself cry into his shoulder.
His sweet, soft scent envelopes me;
I feel safe in his warm embrace.
Why did it take so long to find him When his hugs feel like coming home?
