Take A Turn
Life could be a breeze, or life could be a test.
Life could end quickly, or life could last for a while.
Life could be filled with joy, or life could be filled with sorrow.
No matter what life we have been given to live,
It will have its trials and times of darkness.
During this time we walk down tunnels that are black as night Hoping that the light at the end will appear to us quickly.
We walk down this dark tunnel filled with fear Questioning why we don’t see the light.
What we don’t realize is that this tunnel is not straight, Rather this tunnel is one with twists and turns.
Often we’ll wander and plunge straight ahead, Only to run face first into a wall.
These times can seem hopeless,
And we can imagine that there is nowhere to go.
Comfy Chairs, Angelica Carucci `14
Many panic and try to run back,
But time the guardian of way we came stops us. Many stop and sit and cry or curse,
But they will never make any progress.
Some others will try to move the wall,
They try to move the immovable and get nowhere.
Then there are those who turn to look the other way. The darkness grips them with fear,
But they press on deeper into the dark.
Again and again they walk into the wall,
But again and again they turn and walk on.
Finally they see the light at the end.
A lifetime of traveling has led them there. Whether the light is in this world or the next, Well it changes for everyone.
But I can most certainly say
that for those who turn and walk on,
The light does appear.
