MedTrack® Celebrates 10 Years of Excellence
On August 26, 2009, Padua welcomed its first-ever MedTrack students. Though the program had been developed and promoted since 2008, bringing freshmen into MedTrack was a truly momentous occasion. The Director of MedTrack, Laurie (Keco) Grabowski ’89, fondly refers to that first class as her “trailblazer guinea pigs”.
“They didn’t really know what they were getting in to,”she said. “And neither did we.” In fact, MedTrack was originally designed
as a marketing wrapper to promote Padua’s excellent science curriculum, with a few speakers thrown in for good measure. With the insight and tireless work of the MedTrack Advisory Board and Padua faculty, staff, and administration, the program soon grew to become the national award-winning program that it is today.
The “three pillars” of MedTrack include: (1) rigorous academic preparation; (2) methodical career exploration; and (3) Franciscan spirituality. Underpinning these pillars is a foundation of professionalism and powerful enrichment experiences which makes MedTrack second-to-none. Simply put, MedTrack is a comprehensive, integrated program with dedicated resources that is exclusively available at Padua.
