Dave Kaminski ’80
Dave was a key member of the Padua football team in 1979. That’s the year Padua defeated the Massillon Tigers in the State Semi-Finals. The Bruins lost in the State Finals to Cincinnati’s Archbishop Moeller and finished the season as State Runner- up, which is the best finish in school history for football. During Dave’s career, he was named the Plain Dealer Running Back of the Year and earned 1st Team All-State honors in both the Associated Press and Coaches polls. Dave was invited and played in the prestigious North-South Game at Paul Brown Stadium before receiving a football scholarship to attend Syracuse University.
Brian Keck ’90
Brian was a state wrestling champion for Padua in 1990. He led the wrestling team to a runner-up finish at the OHSAA State Wrestling Tournament, the best team finish in school history. While in high school, Brian was an All-American in freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling.
Brian went on to become a National Heavyweight Wrestling Champion for Cuyahoga Community College. After junior college, he was team captain and two-time NCAA Division 1 national qualifier for Bloomsburg University, where he earned his degree in social welfare in 1995.
After college, Brian competed in wrestling nationally and internationally. He qualified three times for Team USA on their freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling teams.
He won a gold medal at the Pan American Championships in 2003. Brian currently resides in San Diego where he is a successful entrepreneur. He organizes youth wrestling tournaments and camps nationwide through his company, All-American Wrestling, Inc.
Kaitlyn Leary ’10
Kaitlyn was a member of the first two volleyball state title winning teams (2008 and 2009), the first team titles for female sports in Padua’s history. Kaitlyn was named NCL MVP her senior season, along with earning 1st team honors All-Ohio and All- District.
After Kaitlyn graduated from Padua she played volleyball at Ohio State University for 4-years, earning All-American honors her senior year. After OSU, she attended the University of Arizona for grad school and competed on their beach volleyball team, also earning All-American honors.
