NEWSMedTrack Externships Provide Amazing Opportunities MedTrack students are given the opportunity to observe a healthcare professional for 40 hours the summer prior to their junior year, known within the program as an “Externship.” Te students select professionals as varied as research scientist, emergency medicine physician, or certifed registered nurse anesthetist. Tis year’s Externship program went global, as Xiaoxin (Katherine) Wang ’19 pursued a dual experience in China and at the Cleveland Clinic to compare the eastern and western methods of physical therapy. MedTrack Externship Winners 2017 During their externships, MedTrack students interact with healthcare professionals in a real world healthcare setting following their sophomore year. But they are not only observing professionals in a chosen feld, they are also competing for prizes based on their various assignments!
