Home
Only 7 years old and able to tell time
waiting, waiting for that time on the clock to hit 6:30 almost there, he should be home soon
the time is getting closer, 6:25
There it is 6:30 on the black clock
he should be arriving soon
I open my ears only to hear that buzzing noise I see it, the light blue van pull into the driveway
The noise of happiness rang through my ears
I looked in the mirror and saw the giant smile on my face My restless legs lead me to the kitchen
took my bare feet onto the cold hard floor
Waiting, I hear the slamming of the heavy door
Watching his shadow getting closer and closer
I see his face, it lights up with joy when our eyes meet Before I knew it I was screaming “DADDY”
and I finally could feel the warmth of his arms
around me holding me close
the smell of his cologne smelled like home.

An Unexpected Love
Your sight alone takes my breath away
I wouldn’t have it any other way
You make my mind run a mile a minute
I’m not even sure how I was able to win it
The smile on my face stretches from ear to ear When I am with you I have nothing to fear Your presence makes me feel safe and loved You mean the world to me and above

Tears of Happiness
My hands are shaking with nerves
My palms are soaking wet from the sweat My heart is racing as fast as possible
I feel my legs getting weaker
But then i see her
I see her beautiful silhouette standing behind the door The doors open wide and i see her beautiful face
The nerves seem to melt away with every step she takes
Her eyes piercing through the white fish net
Her hands grabbing the pink silk bouquet
I never knew how amazing she would look in white As she got closer my vision seemed to disappear
I couldn’t stop the salty water from dripping down my face She finally was in my arms
Wiping the tears off my face
Ready to be my wife for the rest of our lives
