The fact that Judas had _____ Jesus in this fashion shows that our Lord
was very average and Jewish in His physical appearance (Isaiah 53:2). He was
not some tall, long-haired, blue-eyed man with striking looks.

Putting together these two accounts of Judas' suicide, we can reconstruct what must have
happened.

VI. THE PLACE OF Judas •

Acts 1:25c states that Judas went "to his own place."
There is some prophetic speculation about this - based on the fact that Jesus referred to Judas as
the "son of perdition "(John 17:12) as is the coming Antichrist (II Thessalonians 2:3;
Revelation 17:8, 11 ).
Will the Antichrist in fact be Judas Iscariot resurrected out of perdition? After all, the coming "beast"
will be energized by Satan (Revelation 13:2d) similar to Judas. Since the Antichrist will be a n

o
imitator f Christ, h o better o d o that (it is argued) than the man who spent time with him - Judas
never
Iscariot? Also, Judas _____ called Jesus "Lord."
However, there really isn't anything significant about the word "perdition." The Greek word "apoleia''
is elsewhere translated as 'destruction' and 'damnation,' and refers o the eternal destiny of all lost

souls - Philippians 1 :28; Hebrews 10:39; II Peter 3:7.
THE APPLICATION:

The important lesson to learn from t h e story of Judas s the necessity for a personal relationship with Christ
_
through new birth. Judas enjoyed a _ _ privileged _ _ relationship with Christ b u t was not saved. Many

today are:
White-washed, but not blood-washed!
On the Church's roll, but not on heaven's roll.
