The M/V Crystal Coast Lady offers the comfort of both enclosed and open air seating on the upper and lower decks, kids steering station, giant bow viewing area, on board restrooms, as well as a full galley and snack bar. Davis Shore Ferry Service offers vehicle and passenger service to Cape Lookout National Seashore. Their ferry leaves from Davis, NC to South Core Banks (Great Island) and return. Ferry service, ice, bait, tackle, and other supplies are available through Davis Shore Ferry Service. Ferry service operates March 16–December 31 excluding December 24–26 (weather permitting).

In 2010, local artists created designs on life-size standing and walking fiberglass bears for various locations throughout New Bern. Bear Town Bears, a local non-profit organization, generated the idea for public enjoyment in celebration of New Bern’s 300th Anniversary. Explore downtown while enjoying a game of “Where on the Bear”, an interactive bear hunt for all ages. Pick up a free map at any visitors center with clues for discovery of hidden features on each bear.
