Color Country lakes and streams offer rainbow, German brown, cutthroat or brook trout. There are 20 reservoirs, 9 natural lakes, and 10 creeks and rivers open and stocked for fishing.
In addition to the excellent trout fishing, bass fishing can
be enjoyed at Gunlock and Quail Creek reservoirs and Lake Powell. Any visitor center can direct you to the reservoirs,
lakes, and rivers.
Fishing regulations vary, so pick up a copy of the Utah Fishing Proclamation at any location where Utah fishing licenses are sold. When lakes freeze over, ice fishing is a relaxing winter pastime. Panguitch Lake, Otter Creek, Minersville, and Wide Hollow reservoirs are popular winter fishing destinations. Fishing licenses are available at most sporting good centers throughout southern Utah.
