You are called to be an apologist. I Peter 3:15 says, “but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy,
always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in
you; yet do it with gentleness and respect…” This verse informs you that you need to be prepared to
defend what you believe. You must be able to defend the Bible as God’s Word. In this short lesson we
have looked at just a few ways to defend the attack of the skeptic. We have learned that with careful
study of the context of the passage, careful scrutiny regarding the Hebrew and Greek words used in
Scripture, and with a historical and cultural view, all of the apparent contradictions vanish.

So, give it a try. We have listed for you 13 more “contradictions” proposed by atheistic skeptics. Take
each one and give a defense for the hope that lies within you.
