Chapter 2: A look at Fulfilled and Unfilled Prophecies
Connect…
A prophecy in the Bible is a prediction given by God of things that will happen in the future. Every
prophecy in the Bible was future. But as time has passed, many of the prophecies in the Bible have
already happened! Many of the prophecies center around the coming of a Messiah. In fact, there are
over 300 prophecies alone in the Old Testament that Jesus the Messiah fulfilled in his coming.
However, there are numerous prophecies that have not been fulfilled. They are yet in the future. But
knowing many prophecies from the Bible have happened, it gives us confidence that those predictions
of future events will also occur as predicted. Since they are from God, and God cannot lie, they will
come to pass. Today, let’s build our confidence as we look at some of the prophecies in the Old
Testament that have happened, and then look to those which have not been fulfilled that are yet to
occur in the future.
