P. 51
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from the evil one.”
This prayer that Jesus taught his disciples had 6 foundations to build upon
1. Honor the God of Creation
2. Ask for God’s Kingdom to come to earth
3. Ask God to supply today’s needs
4. Ask to be forgiven of acts of sin with a qualification: As we forgive those who sin against us.
5. Direct us away from temptation
6. Protect us from evil
These characteristics of Jesus’ teaching serve as an example to us that we may emulate those traits to
become great teachers also. Jesus also used a variety of methods in his teaching to which we certainly
should pay close attention.
