Becoming Faithful Stewards

Our number one calling from God is to be FAITHFUL managers of what He entrusts
to us. And every bit of money He gives us is entrusted for careful care.

Matthew 25:14 Again, it will be like a man going on a journey, who called his
servants and entrusted his wealth to them.

Whose wealth is entrusted? God’s wealth! To whom does He entrust? Us! It’s
not our wealth, it is God’s, but He gives us the opportunity to manage it for Him. But it is God who gives
us the ability to manage and produce an increase.

Deuteronomy 8:18 But remember the LORD your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce
wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your ancestors, as it is today.

God expects us to be GREAT stewards of what He entrusts to us. And how we care for God’s money is a
reflection on our own Christian character.

Luke 16: 10-12 Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is
dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much. 11 So if you have not been trustworthy in
handling worldly wealth, who will trust you with true riches? 12 And if you have not been trustworthy
with someone else’s property, who will give you property of your own?

As God finds us faithful, He can trust us with more.

I Corinthians 4:2 Now it is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful.

Remember, He Will Never Leave You or Forsake You

God has promised us that He will never leave us or forsake us. He is always
faithful and will be our provider if we ask. Jesus points to the fact that even the
birds of the air are taken care of by God, so why should we worry since we are
               significantly more treasured by God.

Matthew 6:26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store
away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much
               more valuable than they?

So why don’t I have everything I want and need immediately? The answer is that God is in the process
of making you more like His son, Jesus. He is working out your salvation. How can you claim to have
faith and yet do not trust that God can provide what’s needed? If God provided for you miraculously,
abundantly, and immediately, then you would never learn to live by FAITH. In fact, faith wouldn’t even
be an option for you. It would not exist. But it is by faith that we are saved, and by faith we live our
               lives in trust of Him.

Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.

Romans 1:17, Galatians 3:11, Hebrews 10:38 all say the “righteous man shall live by faith.”
