15.5 Let’s Personalize this Lesson…
Have you ever felt like giving up in ministry because of the oppositions and persecutions
that come along? This is your friend chapter, and there are a lot more chapters to
encourage you from this book. Paul had proper reasons for despair, but he did not. Even
after being stoned in Lystra, the next words he said were, let’s go preach to the next city.
The big question we can all ask is what kept Paul moving even in the face of death? The
simplest answer is that ministry was not about him, it was all about Christ. Mostly, we give up
because we take it personal when we should understand, like Paul, that to live is Christ, and to die is
gain! The reason you are still alive today is because God has a mission with you! And it is not in your
powers to die. Why should you give up if it is all about God? And what will be the purpose of your
existence if you cannot live for Him?
