14.5 Let’s Personalize this Lesson…

Activity: Jihad involves the murder of innocent people who don’t believe as a Muslim does. The
terrorists who flew large airplanes into the World Trade Centers and into the Pentagon believed that
they were justified to do so based on their command to Jihad (religious war). They believed they would
receive an instant ticket to Heaven by giving their lives in Jihad.

According to the Bible, Jihad is the spreading and acting out of pure hatred. It is the murder of innocent
people and is a violation of God’s commandments. Many Muslims today are disillusioned with this practice in their
culture. They don’t understand how God could command them to kill others because they believe differently. It
has led to many Muslims seeking the true God of love. Pray for those who are Christians and being persecuted
because of their faith by Muslims. Pray that many Muslims will come to faith in Christ as they see the inconsistency
in their faith and who God ought to be.
