 "If only the People of the Book had believed and been righteous, We should indeed
have blotted out their iniquities and admitted them to gardens of bliss. If only they had

o Muslims are not supposed to argue with Jews or Christians concerning the prior scriptures,
since the Qur'an is not supposed to contradict the other holy books.

believe in the revelation which has come down to us and in that which came down to
you; Our Allah and your Allah is one; and it is to Him we bow (in Islam).'" - Al-Anka-boot
(The Spider) 29:46 This Surah implies that the Christian scriptures were valid up to the

                                thee..." - Al-Nisa' (Women) 4:162
 "Say ye: 'We believe in Allah, and the revelation given to us, and to Abraham, Isma'il, Isaac,
Jacob, and the Tribes, and that given to Moses and Jesus, and that given to (all) prophets
from their Lord; we make no difference between one and another of them; and we bow
to Allah (in submission).'" - Al-Baqara (The Cow) 2:136
o Muhammad was to appeal to Jews and Christians (and their
 Scriptures) when he was in doubt.
 "But if you are in doubt as to what We have revealed to
 you, ask those who read the Book before you; certainly the truth has come to you from
                                your Lord, therefore you should
 not be of the disputers." - Yunus (Jonah) 10:95

o The Qur'an gives no indication that any of the manuscripts of the Tawrat (Torah) and Zabur
