Ezek. 11:19–20; 16:60–63; 34:25–26; 36:24–32; 37:21–28; Hosea 6:1–3; Joel 2:28–32; Zech. 9:11;
12:10—13:9; Rom. 11:25–27). The Lord will miraculously save a remnant of Israel in the country to the
south and east of the Land. The Lord will sustain them in a special way just as Elijah was cared for at
Cherith Ravine, east of the Jordan (Rev. 12:6)

Also, during this time, the Antichrist is bothered by two witnesses who minister in Jerusalem for 1260
days and declare the truth of the Lord to the entire world. Attempts to destroy them will be prevented
by God until their days of ministry is completed. They will be martyred, but God will raise them up after
three days just as Christ was raised on the third day. The entire world will view their resurrection and
subsequent translation into heaven (Revelation 11).

Toward the end of the tribulation, the Antichrist will increase his enthusiasm to destroy Israel once and
for all. He will call the nations of the world to send their military force to the valley of Megiddo to group
together to attack and destroy Israel, especially focusing on the destruction of Jerusalem. This gathering
of the nations will culminate in one
               great battle called Armageddon.

The word “Armageddon” comes from a
               Hebrew word Har-Magedone, which
               means “Mount Megiddo” and has
               become synonymous with the future
battle in which God will intervene and
destroy the armies of the Antichrist as
               predicted in biblical prophecy
               (Revelation 16:16; 20:1-3).

The exact location of the valley of
               Armageddon is unclear because there
               is no mountain called Meggido.
However, since “Har” can also mean
hill, the most likely location is the hill country surrounding the plain of Meggido, some sixty miles north
of Jerusalem. More than two hundred battles have been fought in that region. The plain of Megiddo and
the nearby plain of Esdraelon will be the focal point for the battle of Armageddon, which will rage the
entire length of Israel as far south as the Edomite city of Bozrah (Isaiah 63:1).

Standing on Mt. Carmel at the west side of the Jezreel valley, one can view the entire future location of
this great battle. Across the way you can see Mt. Tabor and Mt. Gilboa and slightly to the north, the city
of Nazareth where Jesus grew up. In fact, the Mount of Precipice, where they attempted to case Jesus
down, overlooks the Jezreel Valley. Below is the view of the Valley from Mt. Carmel. The mountain in
the center distance is Mt. Tabor and to the right Mt. Gilboa.
