P. 43

The first way we can embrace the new privileges that Christ’s sacrifice affords us is by
confidently drawing near to God. The second way we can do this is…

II. By consistently holding fast the confession of our hope. (23)

                            A. We can do this because God promised our hope. (23b)

                            B. We can do this because God will deliver our hope. (23b)

                       Transition w/ Key Word:
The first two ways we can embrace the new privileges that Christ’s sacrifice affords us are
by confidently drawing near to God and by consistently holding fast the confession of our
hope. The third way we can do this is…

III. By focusing on stirring one another up to love and good works. (24-25)

                            A. We can do this by not neglecting to meet together. (25a)

                            B. We can do this by encouraging one another. (25b)

                       Conclusion:
Don’t be like Tarzan! Recognize the privileges you have because of the sacrifice of Christ
and embrace them by confidently drawing near to God, consistently holding fast the
confession of your hope, and focusing on stirring one another up to love and good
                       works.

Remember, the goal of this step is to apply the passage of scripture in order to determine what message
is there for the people of our day.
