3.5 Let’s Personalize this Lesson….
We cannot expect Job, or even Elihu for that matter, to have a NT perspective on suffering.
Neither had the amount of revelation we have today. The witness of the ages is to the
sufficiency of the person of Jesus Christ in all difficulties. We cannot leave people with
confidence in themselves, their goodness and power and knowledge. Situations arise in
anyone’s life that are overwhelming. Only faith in Christ will see them through the difficulty whether
they are rescued or put to death.
