Study Section 7: God Continues to Create
7.1 Connect
Evolutionists say man is the highest or most developed of all the animals. They view man as
a complex organism of the animal kingdom. He is simply an animal. But in the book of
Genesis, God made man uniquely different from the plant and animal kingdom – He
breathed into him His own breath. He also began walking and communicating with man on a
daily basis. Today, we will see that he gave Adam a special job to bring all the creation under his
stewardship for the glory of God. Because of man’s loneliness, God created a special partner for him
called woman. He brought them together in marriage. He placed them in a perfect environment to
enjoy His fellowship. Let’s explore what this was like….
7.2 Objectives
1. The student should be able to explain the Dominion Mandate.
2. The student should be able to explain why God created the “tree of the knowledge of good and
evil” and how it demonstrated God’s goodness.
3. The student should be able to state man and woman’s original characteristics in their marriage.
7.3 God Begins His Creation
Genesis 1:28-31 – Day 6 the blessing on Man
28 And God blessed them. And God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and
subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and
29
over every living thing that moves on the earth.” And God said, “Behold, I have given you
every plant yielding seed that is on the face of all the earth, and every tree with seed in its fruit. You shall
30
have them for food. And to every beast of the earth and to every bird of the heavens and to everything
that creeps on the earth, everything that has the breath of life, I have given every green plant for food.”
31
And it was so. And God saw everything that he had made, and behold, it was very good. And there was
evening and there was morning, the sixth day. (ESV)
The word replenish in Hebrew is male and it simply means “to fill, fulfill, or be filled”. Of the more than
300 times it appears in the Old Testament, it is translated “replenish” only 7 times in the KJV and even
these could have been rendered “fill”.
31
Dominion Mandate – man was designed and commanded by God to bring creation under his
stewardship for the glory of God.
Verse 31 should be enough to refute the idea of millions of years as millions of years leave a trail of
disease, pain, suffering, and death. Why would God call that very good?
