9.5 Let’s Personalize this Lesson…
The evolution versus creation debate is highly contested by scientists. Both are based on pure
faith. Evolutions believe what they propose because they cannot believe that God exists and
that they must answer to Him for all they do in life. As creationists, we believe that God
demonstrates to us His awesome power in the creation. Romans 1:20 says, “For since the
creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been
clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.” A person
who espouses evolution has to become so hardened to the clear evident that the earth is filled with the
evidence of a Designer, that God says he is without any excuse in the Day of Judgment.
It is like the investigators who were looking into the death of a man who was
squished to death in a room. Standing there is a large elephant. But they ignore
the elephant, looking for all the possible ways this man could have been smashed
on the floor. In their final report, while they are not certain what killed the man,
they are certain it was not the elephant. A person is a fool who will not clearly
see the evidence! How foolish it is when a man says there is no God, when the
evidence of creation declares His power!
If you know anyone who is an evolutionist, take time to pray for him. Perhaps the Holy Spirit can
enlighten his heart and mind to see the reality of our wonderful Creator.
