Activity: While believers today are not “under” the law, the New Testament claims that the Law is
good and holy (I Tim. 1:8, Rom. 7:12). Therefore, the Biblical ethics that can be derived from the
Law is extremely valuable today to know the right things to say and do. The Old Testament can be
of extreme value when applied to the legal systems in a nation. The Law if filled with hundreds of
guidelines on how a person should treat his neighbor or what to do in various situations. We just
know that by obedience to the Law, we cannot obtain a right standing before God. We must temper each
regulation of the Law with the grace revealed in Jesus Christ.
