Study Section 12: Creating a Fishing PowerPoint/Keynote
12.1 Connect
An important concept in education is that when a teacher has taught, the student can “do
what is taught.” In fact, that is the ultimate goal of every teacher. When you teach or
preach, your goal should be that those in your hearing should take what you have taught
them an apply it to their life activities. But in many churches, people sit and listen to
sermons or hear lessons and don’t do anything with them. In fact, most people could not tell
you what the lesson was about one week later. So, in this course we are learning ways to
reinforce what we teach so that people will truly listen. We want what we say to make a difference in
their lives!
Today the lesson is really the application of all of what you have learned in the course. You will have
some slides and a script, and your task is to combine the two into an effective presentation that will
motivate people to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ to their friends, family and neighbors. This may take
some additional time, but it will be worth it. So get started….
12.2 Objectives
1. The student will utilize 28 slides (provided), import them into a presentation program, and
create a presentation to demonstrate his skills learned in this course.
2. The student will then show his presentation to a group to obtain feedback on the
effectiveness of his/her presentation.
12.3 Putting it into practice
It’s now time to put all you have learned to practice. We have copied 28 photos which was
attached to this course in a folder called “Fisherless Fishermen Fellowship.” This is a video
created by Way of the Master about witnessing. It is located on YouTube at this address:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XVBXrknp9x8. What you will be doing is to open a
presentation software (PowerPoint or Keynote) and create a presentation using the following
script and the graphics included in your course download. You will have to create an
introduction screen and a conclusion screen and figure out ways to include the Word presentation script
into your slides (could be presentation notes or graphics on the slides or actual recordings attached to
the slides). Look for ways to animate the slides to
create interest. You might want to watch the video
on YouTube to get an idea what they did to animate
these slides.
