Study Section 16: Looking to the Future
15.1 Connect.
We want to conclude our study with a short reminder. God has a plan for your life. He has
a job for you to accomplish. He has people who need to hear the Gospel and has plans to
use you to lead them to Christ. He wants to use your mouth, your feet, your personal
possessions and all of you to fulfill His plans. He has a special call on your life to love Him
with all your mind, soul, and strength. He simply wants YOU!
Have you given the Lord all of you? All you have to give to Jesus is YOU. If you would be willing to do
that, you will have an amazing future. You will see God move mountains, demonstrating His omnipotent
power on your behalf. Don’t you want to get into the excitement of serving the Creator of the
Universe?
1.2 Objectives:
1. The student should be able to review three ways God wants you to look to Him for your
future.
1.3 Looking to the Future
Once forgiven and assured that we are in Christ we can face the future with
confidence, not because we have learned from our mistakes, but because we know
we are getting nearer in time, to God our Almighty and heavenly Father. But until
that day when we see Jesus face to face, God has a job for you to accomplish. Here
are some tips about walking the journey ahead.
1. Keep looking forward.
There is a famous adage which says, “If you don’t shoot at something, you will never hit it.”
Prov. 4:25-27, Let your eyes look straight ahead, fix your gaze directly before you. Make level paths for
your feet and take only ways that are firm. Do not swerve to the right or the left; keep your foot from
evil.
Here we see a recipe for success in being able to look ahead and move forward. In looking ahead we are
not being distracted by things in other directions. Looking ahead has with it a stated purpose of
advancement. We are striving for reaching new plateaus. Therefore, in order to do that, we must not
lose our focus. Eyes front and keep moving! Don't look to the right or to the left but keep your eyes on
the prize. Walk with Christ in the way that is solid and sure; all other ways are dangerous and
treacherous.
