reigned for 29 years. According to the ‘Famine Stele’
located on the Island of Sehel, Imhotep came to
Djoser in the 18th year of his reign. Given that there
were 7 good years before the famine started, it can
be calculated that Djoser would have died in the 4th
or 5th year of the famine. The Egyptians attributed
Joseph / Imhotep’s achievements to Ra but in fact it
was Yahweh or Jehovah who was behind it all!

Egypt (a former vassal of Assyria) was allied with the
Assyrian king Ashur-uballit II, and marched in 609
BC to his aid against the Babylonians. The Egyptian
army of Pharaoh Necho II was delayed at Megiddo by the forces of King Josiah of Judah.
Nebuchadnezzar, as crown prince, was given command of the Babylonian army harrying the remainder
of the Assyrians in northern Syria. Early in 605 B.C. he met Necho, the king of Egypt, in battle and
defeated him at Carchemish. A few months later Nabopolassar died, and Nebuchadnezzar hastened
home to claim his throne in Babylon.
Egypt ceased to be a significant power following its defeat to Babylon. Eventually Egypt was conquered
by the Romans led by Caesar Augustus in 30 BC.
