of the officials. Daniel purposed in his heart not to allow himself to be defiled with the king's delicacies,
therefore we must purpose not to compromise our morality to match it with the world's. Christians
need to live irreproachably. Until Christians proves themselves to be cleaner than the world, the people
of the world will not recognize that Christians has anything different than they do. Christians are
empowered to influence the professional world and to perform at a higher standard. The ground and
goal of overcoming ungodly culture is the glory of God.
Biblical considerations
The Government has a divine origin. (Romans 13:1)
The Government functions under the sovereign rule of God. (Romans 13:4)
The government exists for the good of the people they rule. (Romans 13:4-5,1 Peter 2:13)
God’s people are called to influence the world. (Matt 5:13-14)
The New Testament is very clear about how we ought to embrace and live out our primary
mission in a pagan society.
Titus.3:1-2 Remind them to be subject to rulers, to authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for
every good deed, to malign no one, to be uncontentious, gentle, showing every consideration for
all men.
1 Peter .2:12 Keep your behavior excellent among the Gentiles, so that in the thing in which they
slander you as evildoers, they may because of your good deeds, as they observe them, glorify
God din the day of visitation.
Acts .4:18-20 And when they had summoned them, they commanded them not to speak or
teach at all in the name of Jesus. But Peter and John answered and said to them, “Whether it is
right in the sight of God to give heed to you rather than to God, you be the judge; for awe
cannot stop speaking about what we have seen and heard.
Acts. 5:40-42 They took his advice; and after calling the apostles in, they flogged them and ordered
them not to speak in the name of Jesus, and then released them. So they went on their way from the
presence of the Council, rejoicing that they had been considered worthy to suffer shame for His name.
And every day, in the temple and from house to house, they kept right on teaching and preaching Jesus
as the Christ.
1 Timothy 2:1-4 First of all, then, I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be
made on behalf of all men, for kings and all who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and
quiet life in all godliness and dignity.
