day and night forever and ever (Revelation 20:10). In hell, there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth,
indicating intense grief and anger (Matthew 13:42).

Revelations chapter 20 gives us a picture of what will happen to every person who does not accept Jesus
Christ as their Savior and Lord.

11 Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. From his presence earth and sky fled
                                                    12
away, and no place was found for them. And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the
throne, and books were opened. Then another book was opened, which is the book of life. And the dead
                                                                                        13
were judged by what was written in the books, according to what they had done. And the sea gave up
the dead who were in it, Death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them, and they were judged,
                                                              14
each one of them, according to what they had done. Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake
                                                          15
of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. And if anyone's name was not found written in the
book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.

The punishment of the wicked in hell is as never ending as the bliss of the righteous in heaven. Jesus
Himself indicates that punishment in hell is just as everlasting as life in heaven (Matthew 25:46). The
wicked are forever subject to the fury and the wrath of God. Those in hell will acknowledge the perfect
justice of God (Psalm 76:10). Those who are in hell will know that their punishment is just and that they
alone are to blame (Deuteronomy 32:3-5).

Every man has a free choice. He must receive eternal life offered him by Christ or he rejects Christ’s love
and comes under the judgment for his sin. Jesus Christ is the only way to eternal life (John 14:6).

Is there such a thing as Heaven or Nirvana?

Heaven is a real place described in the Bible. The word “heaven”
is found 327 times in the Old Testament and 255 times in the
New Testament (in the KJV). New Testament alone. So since it is
                                                                            90
a major theme of the Bible, it obvious is a real place.

The first heaven referenced in the Bible is what we call our sky. It
is the place where our clouds reside. Our birds fly around in this
heaven. God created this heaven on the second day of creation
                                                  (Genesis 1:6-8).

The second heaven refers to the heaven of the stars, moon, and sun. We call it outer space. God
created this heaven or space on the first day but waited until the fourth day to fill it (Genesis 1: 14-19).

A third heaven is the place where God dwells on His throne and is the place that Jesus said He was
preparing a place for all believers in Him (John 14:2). All who have placed their faith in the finished work
of Christ, whether it be Old Testament saints or believers in the New Testament to the present will dwell
in this third heaven. It is a place that will last throughout all eternity.

A portion of this heaven is described in the book of Revelation. It is referred to as a heavenly city. John
