A. Introduction
1. Short Description
In this world, there are two kind of things, animate and inanimate being. When you are
in your classroom, look around you. There are many things in your classroom. In this teaching
material, we will learn about things and animals around us. Beside that, we will also learn about
public places. There are all kinds of objects around us. For example tables, chairs, cupboards,
pencil cases, bags, books and drinking bottles. These objects have observable characteristics.
Based on these characteristics, objects can be grouped by shape, size and color. The objects
around us have various forms. Objects can be grouped by shape. For example: there are objects
in the form of blocks and round. Block-shaped objects such as pencil cases, toy boxes and
cupboards. while round objects such as balls. The objects around us also have various sizes.
there are big and small. there are also heavy and light objects. We can also distinguish objects
by color. There are objects in red, blue, green, yellow, white and others.
2. Relevance
This teaching material contains material about things that are around us, both inanimate and
animate objects. Besides that, they also learn about public places. After studying this module,
students are expected to be able to understand and be sensitive to what is around them,
especially in everyday life and in public places.

understand about articles a, an, and the, differentiate abstract and concrete nouns, differentiate
countable and uncountable nouns, differentiate singular and plural nouns, understand non-
