After a bit of casting about, he spotted the rosebushes in the
slanting yellow sunlight. Their petals glowed warmly, inviting him to
stop and rest his weary wings. He resisted, flying first around the
outside of the rose patch to see if he could spot the prince’s true
love. Hearing his approach, the roses began a solid stream of pleas
and enticements:
“Beautiful bee! Come here! My nectar is the best!”
“Over here, little insect! You won’t regret it!”
“Me! Me! This time, me! It’s my turn, mine! Please!”
