His systematic mind presented him with three choices. First,
evasive maneuvers: change his appearance, his habits, his associates,
his job, everything that might pick him out from the crowd, and hope
that one fine sunny day his precautions would not come to naught.
Second, attack CERBERUS: throw all his efforts into defeating it;
once again, a tactic that would quickly bring him to the attention
of Agency human watchdogs. Third, confess all: the threat to his
own life would be eliminated, and he might be able to cut a deal
enabling him to escape with enough money to start life over in Brazil.
The fourth alternative, martyrdom, did not occur to him at all.
