Overview




                                             The aim of this redevelopment is to bring  new life to
                                          the area. Currently, there is a big shopping centre there

                                          (intu Victoria) which recently filed to administration. The
                                        proposed redevelopment is influenced by the new lifestyle
                                       adopted by people as well as the lack of essential meeting

                                                          spaces in Nottingham’s city centre.





                                                                           Objective




                                        The goal is to redirect the main flow of people towards the
                                        core of the site. The whole area will be pedestrianized and
                                        only bikes would be able to transit via cycle routes. This will

                                          encourage people to come by foot or public transport,
                                        therefore, improving the quality of the air in the city centre.





                                                                Building typologies




                                             The North side is proposed to be residential. The rest

                                            of the blocks will be mixed-used with shops and cafes
                                              on the ground floors. Thus, the city centre would be

                                         expanded; there will be more space for free movement,
                                         more opportunities and places to visit, so the pedestrians’
                                                             experience would be enriched.
