 Speaker Biographies
Melissa Lee, M.Ed., CPS, Field Specialist, Youth & Family Resiliency, UNH Cooperative Extension
Melissa serves as a Field Specialist on the Youth & Family Resiliency team through UNH Cooperative Extension. Bringing with her both passion and expertise in advancing community and individual health, Melissa graduated from Plymouth State University with a BS in Health Education and an M. Ed in Adult Education and Development. She worked for many years immersed in community health initiatives in the Lakes Region of NH, developing and leading community health coalitions, advancing school wellness policy, facilitating evidence-based workshops, and creating partnerships among community organizations. Melissa is passionate about creating healthy environments and systems change to bring about improved health and quality of life. Melissa is a Certified Prevention Specialist and is a member of the NH Multi-tiered Systems of Support for Behavioral Health and Wellness Collaborative (NH MTSS-B), working with NH
schools and communities to implement a systems approach that supports students behavioral health and wellness needs. She is also an instructor in Youth Mental Health First Aid.
Katherine Leswing, MTSS-B Consultant, South Central NH, Office of Social & Emotional Wellness, NH DOE
Katherine Leswing joined the New Hampshire Department of Education as an MTSS-B Consultant with over ten years of experience in public education. In the South-Central region of the state, she works alongside districts who are implementing MTSS-B to incorporate evidence-based behavioral health services and supports in schools. She holds an MA in International Conflict Resolution and a MAT in Secondary Education from American University.
