Room Session Information
       1. Promoting Resilience & Healthy Outcomes for LGBTQ Students - Jeff Perrotti, Founding Director, Massachusetts Department of Elementary & Secondary Education’s Safe Schools Program for LQBTQ & Questioning Students
In this session Jeff provides an opportunity to deepen the conversation on policies, best practices, and resources for supporting LGBTQ students and families. Attendees will leave this session with a better understanding of the experiences of transgender students and their families as well as being more comfortable and confident talking about gender identity, gender expression, and sexual orientation.
      2. An Overview of NH’s System of Care – Dellie Champagne, Children’s Behavioral Health Community Engagement Coordinator, New Futures
Join Dellie for an overview of the policy and advocacy work of the NH Children’s Behavioral Health Program (New Futures) and how it fits into the System of Care for New Hampshire’s children who experience behavioral health needs.
     3. Aligning District Initiatives: Putting Adult SEL First – Katherine Leswing, MTSS-B Consultant, South Central NH & Molly White, MTSS-B Consultant, Southwest Region, Office of Social & Emotional Wellness, NH Department of Education
This session discusses the importance of district and school-level staff modeling core SEL competencies and how, by prioritizing adult SEL, districts can improve student outcomes. We will provide strategies for infusing adult SEL into district practices and apply these strategies to the example of aligning district initiatives.
     4. Positive Behavior Principles - Dan St. Romain, Founder & National Speaker, Dan St. Romain Educational Consulting
Although behaviors in the school system have changed a great deal in the past few decades, our strategies for supporting those behaviors have not. By examining all the information we have learned about the brain, we are in a better position to design effective interventions. In this fast-paced breakout, participants will be actively involved learning nine principles for positively shaping the behavior of students.
