The Bonfire That Almost Wasn't

Rain was forecast the
day of the class bonfire,
and the skies opened
just before its
planned start.

Host Rob Wilder wouldn’t give up; he and parking helpers
Lonnie Frost and Tom Doyle gathered under the
canopy in case anyone showed up.

Thanks to a tongue-in-cheek Facebook post (“where is everyone?”),
a few other classmates did gradually arrive.

In the end 17 hardy souls braved
the weather, the rain stopped,
and Rob and Jeff Bixby happily lit
the bonfire to end a
memorable evening.
