Upper class families and royalty often enjoyed banquets, waited on by slaves and servants.
I couldn´t possibly eat
any more. I´ve already had two pigeon burgers and a goose pizza.
Dancers and musicians playing harps, drums and tambourines entertained the diners, who were able to tuck into vast quantities of food.
Scented cones of grease were placed on people’s heads during banquets. As they melted
a nice smell was released as it dripped over wigs and clothes. (You may want to avoid trying this out at your school disco.)
Ewww. What´s that funky smell?
I knew I shouldn´t have gone for the cheese and onion hair cone.
