And what did Egyptian children (and grown-ups) wash down their dinner with? Beer of course!
That’s right, even the kids drank beer back in those days!
FANCY THAT!
Almost everyone in ancient Egypt loved eating garlic and onions, while ostrich eggs were a great treat. Kisses must have been a bit on the pongy side.
The Egyptian beer was nothing like the kind drunk by adults today, though. It was thick and probably sweet, with nutritious solids floating in it. More like gruel. Yummy.
Best sticking to orange squash, don’t you think?
