Chores now: Tidy room/vacuum/empty dishwasher.
Chores then: Help clean toilet pit/sweep horse manure from stables/turn meat over a fire for hours.
What do you think? It seems like an open and shut case to us. Life now is pretty peachy compared with the kind of things kids experienced back then.
Having said that, if you adore the idea of people using a massive catapult to hurl dead bodies and poo over your garden walls, perhaps you WoUlD be better off back then.
Don’t forget to ask for that time machine for your next birthday . . .
