 different types of trees
Some trees drop their leaves in the winter and are called deciduous. But other kinds of trees keep their leaves and stay green all year round. They are called evergreens.
Instead of wide, flat leaves, conifer trees have long, thin leaves called needles. Their seeds grow in hard cones like pinecones. In the cold weather, the cones’ scales shut tightly to protect the seeds. When the weather gets warmer, the scales open up and the seeds fall out, ready to grow into new trees.
The branches of trees grow in all kinds of different ways:
Pinecone
    Upward branches
Weeping branches
Flat branches
Curly branches
Needles
Leaves come in all shapes and sizes:
Oval Heart-shaped Irregular
Hand-shaped Umbrella- shaped
Round
Spear-shaped
