Luna tells Rudo about Jennifer and Meg – and then Rudo asks how Luna’s mum is. Luna panics and says her mum is fine, not knowing why Rudo is asking, and Rudo mentions that he overheard his mum talking about Luna’s mum’s new house and asks Luna if she’s met her mum’s new boyfriend yet. Luna doesn’t know what Rudo is talking about and insists he’s wrong, and she leaves, upset with him.
Luna finally confronts her dad about her mum. Her dad admits that her mum has left him and moved out to live with someone else – and he’s not been able to accept it until now. Her dad promises she can see her mum soon and eventually Luna forgives him.
The next day Luna visits her mum, who tells her everything – about everything that she’s been going through, her struggle with depression and her fragile mental health, and everything that’s been happening. They reconcile and tell each other that they love each other.
