Ships coming into ancient Egypt brought cedar wood and , precious metals and stones, leopard skins, spices and exotic animals like baboons. In return, the Egyptians sold grains,
, perfume, and (which were used for dying fabric).
Hippos and crocodiles caused a lot of trouble for boats because they could easily tip them over. Hunting hippos with spears was a popular (and dangerous) sport!
