Tom heard a meow. It was Digby running away with a piece of duck!
He followed the naughty cat to the river. A huge festival was taking place, but it was difficult to see over the crowd.
Finally, Tom spotted Digby in the arms of . . . Granny Bea!
Festivals took place throughout the year to celebrate the gods. During
a festival, statues of gods were taken out of the temples and carried by priests in special gold-painted boats to other temples.
