Tom entered the doors of the cathedral, but there was no sign of Digby. He walked across the patterned floor and gasped
as he found himself standing under a huge dome, beautifully painted by men on high scaffolding.
Looking back down, Tom spotted a familiar-looking old lady leaving the cathedral . . .
The many guilds of Florence liked to show off how important they were by becoming of different buildings across the city. They would try to make their chosen building more stunning and famous than any other by hosting competitions for artists to come up with
special designs for their projects.
