Creatures such as hedgehogs, dormice, bumblebees, butterflies and bats come out of hibernation at this time of year. They wake up from a long winter’s sleep and immediately go searching for food to fill their empty bellies.
Maybe you have a tortoise as a pet? If so, you’ll need to wake him
or her up around this time. Wait until the outside temperature is
at least 10°C before you move your tortoise outside, though. It will be a bit of a shock, moving from a cosy hibernation box to the chilly garden or patio!
