While some gladiators fought each other, some fought WILD ANIMALS from across the Roman Empire.
Ferocious creatures such as BeArS, lEoPaRdS, BlAcK pAnThErS and LiOnS were used. The hamster fights were stopped due to lack of interest and the goldfish bouts never really took off either.

Keeping the crowds entertained was important and, just in case they got fed up with everyday killing, the floor of the Colosseum could be flooded and gladiators fought battles in little ships!
