Are you a hopscotch ace? Do you excel at noughts and crosses? Is there no one who can come close to beating you at snakes and ladders?
Maybe you are the greatest at these . . . but you still hanker for a teensy bit more excitement? Then become a Roman gladiator!
First you’ll have to choose which kind of warrior to become. Here are your options:
THRAEX (The Thracian)
Carried a small square or rectangular shield. Main weapon was a short, curved sword or dagger called a sica. And you’d definitely be "sica" it if a Thraex used one on you!
HOPLOMACHUS (The Greek Hoplite)
Wore a distinctive crested helmet with a visor, or face guard, carried a small round shield and brandished a deadly sharp spear. Excellent at bursting balloons after parties.
MURMILLO (The Roman)
Wore an arm guard on their sword arm, carried a large, rectangular wooden shield, and had a fancy bronze plumed-helmet. Armed with a gladius, the deadly sword of Roman soldiers. Best not to annoy.
