  RETIARIUS
Fought using a weighted net and a trident, which looks like an enormous fork. Didn’t have a helmet. When not fighting they were good at catching fish and pretending to be a tiny person with a normal-sized fork.
  SECUTOR
Weapons and armour were the same as the Murmillo, but their helmet enclosed the face completely – the visor had only two small eyeholes. Perfect for hiding a case of really bad spots!
  FANCY THAT!
Occasionally, gladiators would fight so well that they would be seen as having fulfilled their contract to their owner and could be "set free". The decision was usually swayed by the opinion of the crowd, so a gladiator would have to be particularly impressive. When a gladiator was set free, they were presented with a wooden sword by an official or sometimes the emperor at a big ceremony. They then became a rudiarius (which has nothing to do with being rude) and could walk out of the arena as a free person.
