Why not make some homemade Christmas decorations? It’s a great thing to do at the beginning of the Christmas holidays when you are trying to pass the time, counting down to Christmas Day – and it’s a lot cheaper than buying some! It’s always nice to make the dinner table look lovely on Christmas Day. How about making Santa or elf place settings for everyone who is invited?
Make a Festive Place Setting You will need:
Loo rolls or cardboard rolls Red paper Green paper PVA glue
Pompoms in various colours Black felt-tip pen
Cotton wool
White paper or white
sticky labels
1 If you are using cardboard rolls instead of loo rolls, cut them to size. They should be about 10 cm high.
2 Cover the roll in red paper for Santa, or green for the elves.
3 Use glue to fix the paper in place.
4 Use the pompoms to make buttons and noses.
5 Use the black felt-tip pen to draw on the eyes and any other features.
6 Use cotton wool for Santa’s beard and the fur trim
on his red coat. You can give the elves beards, too, if you like. Leave some space on their tummies for the next step.
7 Write your guests’ or relatives’ names on the white paper or sticky labels.
8 Stick these on the tummy area of each of the figures you have made.
9 Decide where everyone is going to sit and put the place settings out so that people can find their place at the table!
